The Sideways Journal features poets, artists, journalists and photographers from all over the place; a collection of postcards from the corners of our lives. Issue 1 is all about the wonky paths we find ourselves on and the lessons we learn along the way. It's about seeing the joy, humour and beauty in the roads less travelled.

We wanted to essentially create an ongoing scrapbook that everyone can throw something into. Every piece is handwritten and every copy of the journal is handmade. There's nothing polished about the publication and we do sincerely apologise if you find any spelling mistakes or misuse of tenses. ​

The journal is also a celebration of our right to move freely - a right that should be universal. For that reason,  50% of proceeds from issue 1 will go to The Acorn Union's Palestine branch, the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee Palestine (PSCCPAL).
